elcome to The International Cat Association (TICA),
the world's largest genetic registry of pedigreed cats.

What Makes TICA Different?
TICA truly is an international organization. Our organization has members and clubs in Latin America, North America, Asia, Europe and Africa and continues to grow all around the world.

TICA recognizes fifty-five breeds of cats for championship competition - from the regal Siamese, exotic Bengal and exquisite Persian, to newer breeds including the Savannah, Kurilian Bobtail and Thai.

TICA also is the world's largest registry of household pet cats and kittens. Household pet cats and kittens adopted from shelters or rescued off the street, compete for titles and international and regional awards, just like pedigreed cats.

But what makes TICA different for you?
TICA feels that cat shows should be fun for exhibitors and spectators alike. Our motto is "Fabulous felines...fun...friendships". To learn what this means, explore our website or visit a local TICA cat show. You will find TICA filled with cat lovers just like you. We come from all professions. We are women, men, and kids. We are cat breeders and animal rescuers. We are tireless champions for the welfare of cats. We may speak different languages and enjoy different customs. But we have one thing in common - we love cats!

Enjoy cats...make friends...and have fun!

Featured Breed: Maine Coon

If you've ever attended a cat show and saw a huge, gorgeous long-hair cat in the ring, most likely you've laid eyes on a Maine Coon. It's clown-like personality, affectionate nature, and easy-going manner makes it one of the world's favorite breeds not only for the show ring, but as a family companion. It's one of the oldest natural breeds from North America and is now officially the State Cat of Maine!

It's shaggy coat and expressive eyes gives it a friendly and amused look. The Maine Coon comes in all colors but most people think about the brown classic tabby or mackerel tabby, which are the most popular color and patterns. Maine Coons evolved by adapting to a harsh Northeast climate so its semi-longhair glossy coat is heavy and water-resistant. Even though it's a long-haired cat, the Maine Coon is almost maintenance-free and only requires a weekly combing to keep it in top condition.
